I want to be transparent with everyone about where The Swop is today and where it's headed.

The Swop may not be publicly open for quite some time. It could be months before I feel comfortable opening the doors at scale. That's intentional.

The reason we're in a closed alpha is simple: this is a complex project. Before we invite large numbers of people into the network, I want to make sure the foundation is strong, the user experience is solid, and the infrastructure is ready to handle significant growth.

Closed alpha isn't a marketing tactic.

It's a development phase.

Some of you have probably noticed features that are visible but not fully available yet. That's because many parts of The Swop are still being built, tested, and refined. What you're seeing is a living product that is actively evolving.

Right now, I'm shipping updates into the app almost every day. That pace won't continue forever, but it's necessary at this stage. As the platform matures, I'll likely slow deployment cycles to create a more stable experience so you aren't being asked to hard refresh, sign back in, or adapt to constant changes. For now, rapid iteration is helping us identify issues, improve performance, and build features faster than we otherwise could.

From time to time, I'll share invite links and bring in new waves of users. You're welcome to invite people you believe would be valuable additions to the community. In fact, I want early members to benefit from referrals and help grow the network alongside us.

If you do invite someone, I ask that you share this article with them first.

A first-time user may not fully understand the current state of the platform. They may encounter unfinished features, bugs, design changes, or temporary issues that are a normal part of this phase. Setting expectations helps people understand what they're joining and why things work the way they do today.

Your participation during this stage has been incredibly valuable. The feedback, bug reports, feature suggestions, and conversations have already helped uncover issues that would have been much harder to find later. The network is better because of the people who are here today.

I also want to thank everyone for their patience. Building something ambitious takes time. Even after The Swop becomes publicly available, development won't stop. The platform will continue evolving, improving, and expanding. That's not a temporary phase. It's part of the vision.

I also believe The Swop is demonstrating a different path for blockchain technology.

My goal isn't to build another crypto application.

My goal is to build useful infrastructure that helps people coordinate communities, organizations, media, resources, and eventually intelligent automation at scale.

Blockchain technology simply happens to be the foundation that makes parts of that possible.

If we do this right, people won't care that it's crypto.

They'll care that it works.

I genuinely believe The Swop is leveraging Internet Computer technology in a way that has the potential to change how many people view blockchain networks. Instead of focusing on speculation, I want to focus on utility, ownership, coordination, and creating tools that people can use every day.

Long term, I would like to see The Swop become a DAO. Whether that happens in a few years or sooner, I don't know. What I do know is that it shouldn't be rushed. Governance is something we need to approach thoughtfully and responsibly as the network matures.

My commitment is to continue building, continue listening, and continue bringing talented people into this mission as we grow.

Not everyone will agree with every decision, and that's okay. Healthy disagreement is part of building something meaningful.

At the same time, I don't believe in trying to force people to love something.

Once The Swop is publicly available, people will decide for themselves whether it's something they want to use. That's completely fair.

If you're here today, it's because something about the vision, the community, or the network resonates with you. I appreciate that more than you know.

And if at any point The Swop isn't aligned with what you're looking for, I understand. There will never be hard feelings.

If you decide to step away, I hope you'll consider coming back in the future. What exists today is only the beginning. The Swop will continue to evolve, and I believe the best chapters are still ahead of us.
